Plage Marquet may not be the most beautiful beach in Cap d'Ail (that would be Mala Plage) but it's an easy beach to access and enjoy. Located at the eastern end of Cap d'Ail just next to the small boat port, Marquet beach is within walking distance of the Monaco border.
The beach is a great family beach with a shallow drop-off and bathtub-calm water. With a mixture of small stones, gravel and sand, walking on the beach is easy on the feet. No shoes necessary! Developers have moved in hard to erect buildings around the beach which spoils the setting somewhat.
Swimming is great. Make sure to bring a snorkel mask as the underwater boulders offshore teem with plants and fish.

Access
With ample paid parking at the western end of the beach, Plage Marquet is a driver's dream and it's wheelchair accessible. The coastal path of Cap d'Ail leads directly to the beach.
Facilities
There's a lifeguard in season and the Cercle Nautique (tel 04 93 78 55 50) which rents kayaks, catamarans and other beach equipment. There are beach showers and a small park behind the beach which has some shade.
Eating
For inexpensive snacks, head to the tennis club snack bar at the eastern end of the beach. Other than that, the only choices are the pricey private beach restaurants.
Private Beach Restaurants
Most of the beach is public but there are two private beach-restaurants where you can rent beach chairs and parasols: Le Lamparo (tel 04 92 10 70 75) and Cap Marquet. The price starts at €23 for a lounge chair and parasol.
