As the name suggests, Bains Militaires was once reserved for the military and their families but now it's open to all. This small pebbly beach just east of Port Lympia has beach showers and is next to the Club Nautique of Nice which proposes sailing, kayaking and rowing courses.
It's a west-facing beach which means a strong afternoon sun and great views of the sunset.
The only refreshments available are at the Club Nautique restaurant (tel 04 93 89 32 97; closed Monday) which offers reasonably priced dishes on a terrace overlooking the sea.
There may be some street parking off-season. The nearest bus stop is the La Reserve stop which connects with the town center via the 98 bus. Schedules at the Lignes d'Azur site. After stepping off the bus, walk back 50 meters or so to the beach.
