Unlike the other two beaches in Roquebrune, Buse and Golfe Blue, Plage de Carnoles is very much an urban beach. The long, narrow, pebbly beach is between a not-too-busy beach road and a beachside promenade. There's a nice view of Menton to the east and a line of hills rise dramatically in the distance. As the water is calm and there's an offshore breakwater, this is a great beach for kids.

There are several "managed" beaches here including Fanal, Cocody Sun (tel 04 93 10 22 21) and L'Everest where you can snack or dine while reclining on lounge chairs under a parasol. A day on a lounge chair with a parasol costs around €15. There are also plenty of snack stands and sandwich shops on and around the beach.

Worried about safety? No problem. Lifeguards are on duty all summer spaced ever 200m or so. And, there's a watersports center on the eastern end of the beach.

Access

Access is easy from the Carnoles train station which is only a few streets from the beach. Or, take buses 18, 21, 100, 110. There's also paid parking not far from the beach.
