The lengthy Aubrey Lecompte public beach stretches between the public beaches of Carras and Sainte-Helene. As there are no hotels in the vicinity and it's a distance from Nice's town centre, here is the beach most likely to be uncrowded on a hot July day.
On the western end of the beach, there's a calm little cove sandwiched between two jetties. You're still close to Nice Airport here so there will be the noise of jets taking off.
Apartment Face a la Mer is the nearest accommodation. It's a reasonably-priced flat on ave de la Californie just across from Aubrey Lecompte beach.
The closest large hotel is the Radisson Blu just east at Sainte Helene beach.
Although the beach presents no special dangers, be aware that there is no lifeguard on duty and the nearest one is just west at Carras beach. See more about lifeguards.
You can try to find a spot on the Promenade des Anglais or behind on avenue de la Californie but space is limited, especially in summer.
There's no WC here.
The nearest public bus stop is Sainte Helene where you'll find bus 12. The nearest tram stops are Sainte Helene and Carras on tram line 2. See more on getting around Nice.
There's no beach restaurant. To find snacks, go up rue Aubrey Lecompte on the eastern end where you'll find a small grocery store.
