Bed on Florida beach

Florida Beach, between Poincare and Voilier beaches, includes both a public beach and the private Florida Beach beach and restaurant. The public beach area is a small but wide beach west of the restaurant. The gradual drop-off and gravel at the water's edge make sea access among the easiest in Nice.

Florida Beach is just one beach west of the marvellous AC Hotel Nice Marriott , a striking four-star hotel with a rooftop swimming pool.

Parking is difficult in this neighborhood. You may have better luck heading further west.

There's a WC at the Avia service station just west of the beach across the Promenade. Naturally, Florida Beach has all necessary facilities for its clients.

Besides dining at Florida Beach restaurant, you could head east to Voilier beach and turn up ave Paul Valery where there's a Spar supermarket and a simple cafe on ave de la Californie.

The closest bus stop is Grosso/CUM/Promenade. You'll find buses 8, 11, 52, 59, 60, 70, 94, 98, 200, 230, 400, 500.

There's no lifeguard on duty at Florida beach. The closest lifeguard is 200m west at Poincare beach. See more about lifeguards.

Before settling down to lunch I had a brief swim and then went back to change into dry clothes. I was a little disappointed with the large changing area which was not closed to public view. For privacy, I was relegated to changing in the WC which was uncomfortable. The whole space could use freshening up. For lunch I ordered the Caesar salad which was copious and adorned with (allegedly) free-range chicken breast. It was fine but the sauce was somewhat bland. Service was friendly.
