Florida Beach, between Poincare and Voilier beaches is now only a public beach as the former private Florida beach restaurant has closed. The gradual drop-off and gravel at the water's edge make sea access among the easiest in Nice. If you don't have watershoes, Florida beach is the place for you.
In July and August Florida beach is all about the kids. Li Rateta beach club is devoted to keeping kids 6-12 happy, active and entertained Monday to Saturday 10am-noon and 2.30-6.30pm. There's water polo, kayaking, paddle-boarding and windsurfing or just supervised swimming. On land, there's beach soccer, beach volleyball, trampolines, frisbee and other organised games. The price is €12/15 morning/afternoon session or €20 for the whole day. Payment is by credit card on site from 9-10am and 1.30-2.30pm.
Florida Beach is just one beach west of the marvellous AC Hotel Nice Marriott , a striking four-star hotel with a rooftop swimming pool.
Parking is difficult in this neighborhood. You may have better luck heading further west.
There's a WC at the Avia service station just west of the beach across the Promenade.
You could head east to Voilier beach restaurant or turn up ave Paul Valery where there's a Spar supermarket and a simple cafe on ave de la Californie.
The closest tram is Ligne 2 and the stop is CUM (Centre Universitaire Mediterranée) The closest bus stop is Grosso/CUM/Promenade where you can catch buses 12 or 32.
There's no lifeguard on duty at Florida beach. The closest lifeguard is 200m west at Poincare beach. See more about lifeguards.
